Wow, wow, and wow.
Please check out this article in the Washington Post about Stanislav Petrov and how he saved the world (as far as I'm concerned). I won't recap since you can just link through and read all about it in the WaPo article...
The group that gave him the World Citizen Award has received such a strong response since April that they have begun accepting donations for Stanislav, who is still living in Russia. Please consider donating... this guy is the best, obvs.
